If you are a small business owner in Carlsbad and haven’t taken advantage of what our libraries have to offer, you may want to keep an eye on the upcoming renovations of the Georgina Cole Library on Carlsbad Village Drive and the Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane.
In addition to modernizing the library buildings, the city is increasing its programming geared toward local professionals. -Christina Vincent, Economic Development Manager
The city is offering a new program this fall for small businesses called, “Let’s Do Lunch,” a workshop series designed to combine instruction and networking. The series will kick off at the end of the month with the following lineup:
- Sept. 23 – Business Finances: Traditional to Nontraditional Funding Options
Curious about growing and financing your business? In this workshop led by Joseph Molina, from the San Diego Small Business Sector Navigator’s Program, participants will learn what banks and investors are looking for when backing a business. The program will also cover lending options such as factoring and lines of credit.
- Oct. 28 – Social Media Marketing: General Tools and Focus on Trends in the Social Media Realm Today
Considering social media marketing? Learn about the different types of social media available for small businesses and how to select the one that best fits your needs with Cyndi Darlington, the president and founder of Darlington Marketing.
- Nov. 18 – The Motivation and Leadership Workshop
Want to help employees reach their goals? Learn how to evaluate strategies for effective communication in the workplace and the best ways to promote employee motivation, again with Joseph Molina.
Each session is 90 minutes, including time for Q&A and networking. Workshops are free and will begin at noon in the Gowland Meeting Room at the Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Lane.
